Quine Country

Yesterday we took a 20-25min drive to Swan Valley, which is one of the wine regions. Our first stop was at Upper Reach where I was pleasantly surprised by how many different varietals they were able to grow. Also, you don't pay for a tasting flight, you just sample whatever they have open at the time. Awesome. They had a great Rosé which we got four bottles of, amongst others.

We stopped for lunch, then headed to John Kosovich Wines

       The tasting room was in the basement

     They had barrels of wine dating back to 1950!

   If the Blair Witch owned a vineyard, this would be it.

The man serving us was extremely nice and his grandfather had started the winery.

This particular vine was planted in 1922. I know because the sign said so. So there.

On the way home I saw my first kangaroo up close! He was posing perfectly, but then hopped away when I snapped the photo. I yelled at him real good for being such a jerk. *sad face*
